Welsh Social Care Workforce Encouraged to Share Their Views in Annual Survey

Social Care Wales has unveiled its third annual “Have Your Say” survey, inviting social care workers across Wales to participate and share their thoughts on key aspects of their profession.

This survey provides a valuable platform for those involved in the social care sector to voice their perspectives on crucial topics such as health and well-being, pay and working conditions, and the aspects they most appreciate about their roles. Taking approximately 15 minutes to complete, the survey is straightforward and requires no prior preparation.

The information gathered offers a vital snapshot of the sector, aiding Social Care Wales and its partners in tailoring support to meet workforce needs. Additionally, the insights gained help inform Welsh Government policymakers about pressing issues within the field.

The survey is open until 7 March and can be completed online. Participants from the 2024 survey, whose results were published in October, have already influenced ongoing improvements, and the findings from this year’s survey will be released later in 2025.

Social Care Wales has once again partnered with Buckinghamshire New University, Bath Spa University, and the British Association of Social Workers to deliver this important initiative. These trusted collaborators have been instrumental in ensuring the survey captures the most relevant and impactful data.

To encourage participation, everyone who completes the survey will have the chance to win a £20 shopping voucher through a prize draw.

Sarah McCarty, Chief Executive of Social Care Wales, emphasized the significance of this initiative, saying:
“This survey is your opportunity to share your experiences and insights about working in social care in Wales.”

“Last year, more than 5,000 people took the time to respond. We’re incredibly grateful for your input, which highlighted your unwavering commitment to making a positive impact on individuals and families. Your feedback also shed light on several key challenges that we are actively addressing in collaboration with our partners.”

“You can learn more about the actions we’re taking in the social care workforce delivery plan or the Minister for Children and Social Care’s response to last year’s findings.

“We understand how busy you are, and we truly appreciate your time. However, completing this survey is a vital step towards ensuring we can better support the workforce and address your needs effectively.”

Social care workers in Wales are strongly encouraged to take part in the survey and ensure their voices are heard. Don’t miss this chance to contribute to shaping the future of social care in Wales!
