Karuna Manor Care Home Celebrates India’s Independence Day

Karuna Manor Care Home in Harrow celebrated India’s Independence Day with a vibrant programme that brought residents, staff, families and guests together to celebrate India’s rich history, culture and heritage.

The celebration was filled with colour, music and memories, with residents taking an active role in making the day special. One of the highlights was seeing residents dressed as Indian freedom fighters, bringing history to life and creating an opportunity for everyone to remember and honour the people who played an important role in India’s journey to independence.

Residents also shared their personal stories, memories and experiences, creating a meaningful and nostalgic atmosphere. Their stories gave everyone an opportunity to reflect on India’s past and the changes they had witnessed throughout their lives.

Adding to the celebrations, one of the residents delighted everyone with a beautiful cultural dance performance. The performance was warmly received and demonstrated how residents continue to share their talents, traditions and cultural identity.

The celebrations also included a special Independence Day cake-cutting ceremony, where residents and staff came together to mark the occasion. The cake-cutting created a joyful moment of togetherness and was enjoyed by everyone.
