The Care Quality Commission have launched #DeclareYourCare – a year-long campaign to encourage people to share their experiences of services with the regulator. The campaign will focus on why people have been prevented from voicing their concerns about and health and social care services and the motivation behind speaking up.
VODG chief executive Rhidian Hughes said:
“A listening ear and effective complaints systems are the cornerstone to good quality health and social care services. People should feel free to give feedback and share concerns knowing that organisations will both listen and respond. VODG is right behind CQC’s declare your care campaign and will work with the regulator, our members and across the sector to improve people’s access to, and quality of, feedback and complaints systems.”
Last year VODG backed the NHS England campaign Ask, Listen, Do. This initiative encourages providers to learn from and improve the experience of people with learning disabilities, autism or both and family carers when they give feedback, raise a concern or make a complaint.
