Trio Lead The Way At Nursing Home

TrioThree members of staff have successfully completed their training to become team leaders at Riversway Nursing Home, Bristol.

Megan Palmer-Oades, Sian Tucker and Kiri Krees had in-house training sessions delivered from nurses and specialists within Riversway to underpin their existing knowledge and prepare them for their new role.

Riversway team leader Trudy Palmer, who helped facilitate some of the learning, said it had been a successful initiative and the staff had also received some external training.

Jan Wilkins, Director of Operations at Riversway, said: “The team also learned more about the Springhill Vision which means quality first in everything we do for each person we support and for all our staff. We want to be the service provider and employer of choice in our communities.”The trio were trained in a number of areas of work including medication awareness and competency, pressure care, observations, falls protocol, accident-incident forms, body language and assertiveness, person centred care and engagement, and care planning.
