The London Childrens Ballet Comes To Local Care Home

Residents and staff at Hugh Myddelton House care home in Southgate experienced an afternoon of joy when The London Children’s Ballet came to visit.

London Children’s Ballet was founded in 1994 to give talented young dancers a unique opportunity to perform as part of a professional ballet production. In 2003 the LCB2 Touring Company was formed in order to bring the performances to those who may be unable to attend a theatre performance.

Residents at Hugh Myddelton House were blown away by The L C B performance of Anne of Green Gables, as they were danced through the emotive story of 11 year old Orphan Anne, who was sent by mistake to two middle-aged siblings who had intended to adopt a boy to help on their farm. The performers spent time with residents, dancing, talking and taking pictures after the show.

General Manager, Jade Shea said, “Our residents had a wonderful day, they were mesmerised by the wonderful performers. We do our best to provide a wide range of activities and entertainment at Hugh Myddelton House as part of the life enrichment programme for residents, and are always keen to bring live performances to our lovely home!”

Jean, former dancer and resident at Hugh Myddelton House said “The Children were so professional and delightful. They danced with me at the end, it bought back so many wonderful memories. I absolutely loved it and I can’t wait to see them again!”
