The National Association of Care Catering (NACC) has announced that David Brindle, public services editor for The Guardian is to speak at the NACC Training & Development Forum 2016, which takes place on 5-7 October at the East Midlands Conference Centre, Nottingham.
The award-winning journalist, who specialises in social policy issues, will draw on his vast experience of reporting on the public sector to consider and explain why it remains so marginalised.
Neel Radia, national chair of the NACC, said: “We are thrilled to have David Brindle as part of our diverse speaker programme for the NACC Training & Development Forum. It’s really important that the forum offers delegates new perspectives and commentary, and David will certainly provide this. David is a highly-respected journalist. His experience and knowledge of public services is wide reaching and he genuinely cares about making a positive difference within the sector. His insight and observations will be fascinating and will definitely give us all something to think about.”
David’s knowledge of the sector spans almost 30 years and in that time he has won a number of awards for his coverage of health and social care and the voluntary sector. He is also chair of the National Development Team for Inclusion, vice chair of the Recovery Focus group of mental health and addiction charities, founded by Richmond Fellowship, and a member of various advisory committees, including those of the National Council for Voluntary Organisations and the School for Social Care Research.
The NACC Training & Development forum has the clear objective to inform, update and inspire care sector professionals* on the latest issues affecting care catering. The two-day event engages delegates through relevant speakers, training workshops, practical culinary demonstrations and a supplier exhibition, specifically designed to stimulate discussion and offer fresh approaches, skills and advice to enhance their catering provision.
