Tewkesbury Care Home Residents Have A Memorable Day On The Canal
Tewkesbury Care Home Residents recently enjoyed a memorable day on the canal.
The trip, organised by Willow Trust who offer fun and Freedom for disabled people on the water was a chance for 10 residents from Tewkesbury Fields Care to immerse themselves in a day filled with scenic beauty and tranquillity’. The residents, accompanied by dedicated staff, indulged in a picturesque voyage, enjoyed a leisurely lunch on board that had been prepared by head chef. Whilst taking in the breath-taking landscapes on the Gloucester – Sharpness Canal.
The journey presented ‘a unique opportunity for the residents to unwind, connect with nature, and create lasting memories’. The residents were described by care home staff as ‘captivated by the tranquil waters, lush greenery, and the sense of peace that enveloped them throughout the journey’. One of the residents from Tewkesbury Fields Care Home who took part in the trip said: “This was a wonderful day and I even got to steer the boat, I enjoyed everything about the day”
