Talented Redditch Care Home Resident Wins Season’s Greetings Card Design Competition

88-year-old Millcroft care home resident, Pat Tuckley, was thrilled to have been announced the winner of HC-One’s Seasons Greetings Card Competition.

The Seasons Greetings Card Competition encourages residents to channel their artistic talents to design the official HC-One festive card, which all care home staff and residents are able to send to their families and friends.

Pat, who moved to Millcroft in August 2023, fell in love with art after joining a weekly group at her local church, where her and her friends would meet every Tuesday evening to create ‘whatever they fancied’.

Whilst her favourite animals to paint are mice, animal-lover Pat chose a pair of robins for her greetings card design, and couldn’t believe it when she was crowned the winner of the competition. Pat said, ‘I’ve painted for many years, and I truly love it. I feel so happy and proud that my design was chosen as the winner. My family are very pleased and can’t wait for some packs of the card to be delivered.’

Lyndsay Sard, the Home Manager at Millcroft, added, ‘Pat is such a talented lady, we’re always so impressed by her artwork, a lot of which she has displayed in her room.

‘We’re so excited to be able to send Pat’s cards to people in the local community – it’s sure to bring some holiday cheer!’
