Summit Care Group Transforms Acacia Bank Care Home To Achieve Milestone Care Quality Rating

Care provider, Summit Care Group, is celebrating the successful transformation of the Acacia Bank Care Home in Bradford, which has been rated ‘Good’ by the Care Quality Commission [CQC] after being placed in special measures under its previous provider.

Inspected in July of this year, the care home was rated as ‘Good’ in all areas, a significant achievement owing to the new team and leadership at Summit Care Group.

Offering both residential and dementia residential care, Acacia Bank has undergone a full refurbishment and management overhaul and has been renamed to signal a fresh start.

The CQC’s detailed assessment highlighted substantial improvements across the board. The home’s environment was praised for being clean, homely, personalised, and well-maintained, with adaptations tailored to individual resident needs. Newly added facilities such as a cinema room, salon, and café lounge contribute to a warm and engaging atmosphere, described by residents and relatives alike as welcoming and supportive.

Adam Calverley, home manager at Acacia Bank, said:
“The team at Acacia Bank have worked hard to showcase the high level of care and facilities available, which has resulted in our “Good” CQC rating.

“A huge amount of commitment and resources have gone into transforming the home from its previous condition into what is now a high standard “Home from Home”. We’re looking forward to welcoming new residents and continuing to provide high quality care, empowering residents to live their lives to the full.”

Bernie Suresparan, founder and CEO of Summit Care Group, added:
“I am so pleased to receive this recognition from CQC for Acacia Bank. Since purchasing the home with an “Inadequate” rating, we have spent a considerable amount of time and money to make it one of the most beautiful homes in the Bradford area. We welcomed our first residents in January of this year, and now that the rating has improved considerably, we look forward to welcoming more residents in the near future.”
