State-Of-The-Art Care Home For Somerset Completed

stateA £10 million care home has been created in Bridgwater to meet the need for more nursing care home provision in the Somerset area.

The 88-bedroom development at Bower Lane in Bridgwater will provide a much-needed boost to the region’s residential care home provision, specifically for people with dementia.

Local firm Midas Construction has been on site since March 2015 developing the five-acre site, with the facility offering 66 en-suite bedrooms and 22 care suites, all featuring the latest technology available to the health and social care sector.

The scheme will employ up to 140 staff to operate the care home, which includes a petting farm for residents – a trademark feature of homes created by acclaimed family-run care and support developers, N. Notaro Homes Limited.

Nunzio Notaro, managing director of N. Notaro Homes Limited said: “The demand for care facilities is increasing year on year, and sadly illnesses like dementia are also on the rise, so developments like this one in Bridgwater play a vital role in that growing issue.

“I am delighted to see the development open and ready for residents. It was great to be working with Midas again, they delivered the project quickly and to a very high standard.”

Derek Quinn, divisional director at Bristol-based Midas Construction, said: “We are very proud to have completed work on this state-of-the-art facility in Bridgwater, which is the third scheme we have delivered for N. Notaro Homes Limited.  This design and build project comprises some interesting features, such as hanging balconies, but also a real focus on delivering the most up to date assisted living facilities and dementia care accommodation available to the market at the moment.”

The new site also incorporates extensive new landscaped gardens, car parking, and offsite storm water management facilities and connections.
