Staff At Parley Place Care Home Elf Themselves For Elf Day!

Staff at Parley Place Care Home in West Parley swapped their uniforms for costumes on National Elf Day and enjoyed a visit from some new friends.

Launched by the Alzheimer’s Society and delivered direct from the North Pole, Elf Day was created to sprinkle some festive cheer on fundraising towards finding a cure for dementia.

On the day, residents and staff at Parley Place were joined by Parley Pre-School for a morning of games, colouring and making snowmen out of play doh!

Carolina, a resident of the home said: “It was a very festive day and the staff made us laugh in their costumes, the children had made us all a Christmas card which is now up in my room!”

Gina Smith, General Manager at Parley Place and head elf, said: “Elf Day at Parley Place is always a lot of fun and we are home to some of the most unusual elves I have ever seen! We know first-hand that many people, including a good number of our residents, are living with some form of Alzheimer’s. That’s why supporting dementia charities is dear to our hearts. The children’s visit was so special and I think our residents and the children both gained new friends today! For anyone that has any questions about caring for those with Alzheimer’s, do please give us a call and we’ll do all we can to help.”

Our varied life enrichment programme keeps residents active, and provides a daily choice of engaging physical, mental and spiritual activities tailored to residents’ interests and abilities.
