Special Visitor Pops Into Lincoln Home On Surprise Visit To See Residents Who Are Friends

A Lincoln home welcomed a special visitor to the home, who dropped by on a surprise visit to see two residents.

MHA Stones Place welcomed Derek Evans better known as Mr Motivator into the home as he came to visit friends Sheila Kilvington and John Rooke, who are both residents at the home.

Mr Motivator rose to fame in 1993 through appearances on the UK breakfast television show GMTV, where he performed live fitness sessions and offered tips and advice to viewers

He came to MHA Stones with his wife Sandra and met Sheila and John whilst on a cruise many years ago and have maintained a friendship with the two since.

Stacey Allen, activities coordinator said: “Sheila and John would often tell us they are friends with Mr Motivator and he would come to visit one day.

“A lot of the staff members were in disbelief when he and his wife walked in, and it was a surprise for all of us.

“John had spoken to him prior to moving in so he knew where to find the two and he did.

“Mr Motivator is a lovely man, he spent around an hour and a half, speaking to staff and other residents as well as Sheila and John.

“He had never been to Lincoln before and travelled from Manchester.

“Before leaving he mentioned he was keen to do some fitness sessions with the residents, so we look forward to arranging those.”
