Southport Home Brings Flavour Of Mexico Into Home By Hosting Themed Day

A Southport home held a Mexican themed day and gave staff and residents a taste of the country.

MHA Connell Court arranged a Mexican theme day which included plenty of fine food as well as staff dressing in traditional Mexican attire.

Family members of residents were also invited to tuck into some food, which was made in house by the kitchen team.

The day was full of fun and laughter which included Mexican ukulele lessons and a game of pinata.

The home provides residential care for 37 residents.

Anna Harvey, home manager said: “We always try to do a range of themed days and events for our staff and residents.

“They really enjoy learning about new countries and cultures and are always up to trying out different foods.

“For us arranging days like this is important as it educates all of us on the different cultures there are in the world.

“I want to give a lot of credit to Cathy Rothwell, our activities coordinator who arranged the day.

“The plan is to do something like this on a regular basis and everyone at the home is already looking forward to the next one.”
