Signature at Bentley House Couple Celebrate 70th Wedding Anniversary

A couple living at Signature at Bentley House have celebrated an amazing 70 years of marriage.

Alan and Brenda Barrick celebrated their extraordinary platinum wedding anniversary at a celebration organised by Bentley House on the 7th June, having married on the same day in 1952.

The couple arrived at Bentley House during the midst of the COVID pandemic in March 2020, with team members at the home being overjoyed to be able to help them mark their seven cherished decades they have spent by each other’s side.

As part of the celebration at the care home Alan and Brenda enjoyed a very special lunch together surrounded by flowers and presents brought in by their loved ones, and plan to celebrate with family due in the near future.

A few days after their celebrations the couple were gifted a photograph that was taken of them together on their 70th wedding anniversary in a beautiful frame to keep as a cherished and everlasting memory.

Alan Barrick, a resident at Signature at Bentley House said: “When asked what the secret to my long-lasting marriage is, I can simply say it is finding someone you get along with well, we understand each other in a way that is very special and unique to us. I love my wife very dearly and I am so grateful we can continue to enjoy each other’s company at Bentley House.”

Cassie Hinton, Client Liaison Manager said: “We are very proud to have been able to organise such a special moment for Alan and Brenda, we are all in awe of their astonishing 70 years together and we wish them many more to come.”
