Signature At Ascot Care Home Set To Welcome ‘Voice Kids’ Star On Christmas Day

Signature at Ascot will be welcoming ‘Voice Kids’ UK star Leah Jewel this Christmas, with the former contestant set to sing for residents on 25th December.

Leah was the youngest contestant in the ‘Voice Kids’ UK Series 1, where both Pixie Lott and WILL.I.AM turned around in their famous red chairs during her blind audition in a hope that she would join their team. After joining pop star Pixie Lott, Leah progressed through to the battle round of the show.

And now, the singing star is set to perform for residents at Signature at Ascot after her Manager got in touch with the care home. Following the challenges of the pandemic, Leah was eager to do her part to make their Christmas as special as possible, whilst using the occasion to build her own confidence back up after the lockdown period.

To mark the big day, residents will start off their Christmas celebrations with gift-giving, followed by champagne and canapes to accompany Leah’s singing taking the necessary COVID-19 precautions. As the day progresses, they will sit down to a traditional Christmas lunch prepared by the wonderful catering team at the care home, before enjoying a festive film in the afternoon. Throughout the day residents will also be visited by loved ones to celebrate the festivities with one another.

Speaking ahead of Leah’s visit, General Manager at Signature at Ascot, Raina Jordan, said: “Leah has visited our home before, and the residents loved hearing her beautiful voice. We are so happy and appreciative that Leah is giving up part of her Christmas Day to sing for our residents.”

Pam Gyngell, a resident at the care home, added: “It’s lovely to hear young people sing and it lifts the spirits, especially at Christmas time.”
