SCIE Chief Executive Stepping Down

Tony Hunter is to stand down as Chief Executive of the Social Care Institute for Excellence (SCIE) on 31 March 2020. Tony says: “The last six years have without doubt been amongst the most stimulating and productive of my 40 years in social work and associated organisations across sectors.” Tony has thanked staff, board members and stakeholders for their fantastic work to improve the lives of people who use care and support services. Tony will move to a more portfolio-based range of work, including the continued chairing of the Doncaster Children’s Trust.

SCIE’s Chair, Rt Hon. Paul Burstow, has thanked Tony for his contribution to the success of the organisation and for his work for the sector.

SCIE now seek a new Chief Executive to work closely with the Chair, the Rt Hon. Paul Burstow, and the Board, to lead SCIE through the next exciting phase of our transformation. We are open as to candidates’ background, but they will bring a track record of successful leadership and exceptional business acumen, combined with an interest in shaping national policy and practice improvement across the social care landscape.
