Schoolchildren Enjoy Christmas Carols and Snowball Fight with Hamble Heights Residents

Little schoolchildren brought some festive cheer to Hamble Heights residents by singing a host of Christmas songs and enjoying a snowball fight.

Pupils from Whiteley Primary School visited the residents at Encore Care Home’s Hamble Heights care home in Fareham to perform a host of festive favourites while donning Santa, elf and reindeer hats for the residents to sing and dance along to. Afterwards to whoops and cheers from the kids, the residents started an indoor snowball fight with the children using soft toy snowballs, which saw the home filled with shrieks of laughter.

Afterwards, the children chatted to the residents about what they had been learning about at school in lessons, what they were looking forward to over the festive season, and what they had put on their lists to Father Christmas.

Vanessa Duggan, Wellbeing Manager for Hamble Heights, said:
“Our residents loved welcoming the children in to sing and dance to boost the festive mood. Christmas is always a special time for our residents as they enjoy putting up the decorations around the home. They also look forward to tucking into a host of tasty treats and getting crafty to make gifts for their relatives, so the wonderful performance from the Whiteley Primary School pupils was the icing on the cake for them.”
