RMBI To Launch Day Service

RMBI care home, Barford Court in Hove, has announced the launch of a new day service to begin on 23 June.

The service will offer high quality, personalised support for older people who enjoy the independence of living in their own home, but could benefit from company and assistance during the day. Available seven days a week, the service will cater for people with most conditions and disabilities, including dementia and memory loss. The service will support carers by providing older people with the opportunity to form new friendships and maintain everyday skills.

Barford Court will hold two Open Day events on 19 and 20 June 2014 from 10am to 7pm. These will provide visitors with an opportunity to explore the facilities and experience what the service offers. Staff will be on hand throughout the day to answer questions and lead a variety of activities.

The service will support up to 20 people a day, with the option for people to attend morning, afternoon or all day sessions. Further services include the provision of healthy meals as well as an accessible shower service and hairdressing salon.

The day service includes an individual assessment, which will be used to create a personalised support plan in order to help maintain an active and independent lifestyle.

Whilst the structure of each day will vary according to the individual, activities may include art groups, light physical exercise, gardening, reminiscence and stimulating games. The service will also link with other local groups which may provide further support and opportunities for social interaction.
