Residents Look Forward To Pampering Sessions As New Beauty Salon Opens At Altrincham Home

There will be plenty of facials and pedicures at an Altrincham home following the opening of their new beauty salon.

MHA Handsworth have opened a beauty salon for their residents by converting a former kitchenette into a salon.

The home has had plenty of changes following the opening of a library, a hair salon and now a beauty salon.

The salon took around 10 days to complete, with a mixture of old and new items used to create the space.

The home provides residential care for 43 residents.

Sean Peters who works in maintenance created the space and says he purchased some paint and used existing cupboards and wrapped them in vinyl.

He added: “We asked the residents what they wanted and most if not all suggested having a beauty salon.

“I then got on the job and started to purchase equipment like tables, chairs and a nail varnish unit.

“We made a custom sign so everyone could see where the salon was and the feedback has been very impressive.

“Our activities coordinator Charlotte will be providing the treatments and it’s great to have a relaxed space for our residents.

“It’s still early days but we have been getting residents visiting the space and getting some treatments.

“I am very happy with the finished result and the effort gone into making the space was totally worth it.”
