Residents Lead Generous Foodbank Donation Effort at Maris View

Residents, staff, and friends of Maris View care home came together to donate to Eastbourne Foodbank, who provide food, essential items, and other vital services to people in the area.

After holding a collection for the foodbank in the care home, Maris View dropped off boxes full of items including pasta, tinned food, toiletries, sanitary products and many other everyday necessities that are distributed to those in need.

One relative of a resident at Maris View made a very generous donation of a trolley full of items to support the cause.

78-year-old Maris View resident, Margaret Briggs, was particularly pleased with the collection and said, “The Eastbourne Food Bank is a vital service that sadly remains essential for many in our community. It serves as a humbling reminder of how fortunate we are and the importance of supporting one another.
“The staff are always friendly and understanding, creating a welcoming environment for those in need. Volunteers from all around Eastbourne generously give their time and energy, showing the spirit of community care and compassion.”

May Powell, the General Manager at Maris View, added, “Maris View is not just a care home, it’s a community partnership with the people who call Eastbourne home.
“Wherever possible, we like to know we are making a difference in our residents lives, and in the lives of everyone around us.”
