‘Outstanding’ Rating Awarded to Shipston-on-Stour Care Home, Low Furlong

The team at Low Furlong care home, in Shipston-on-Stour, Warwickshire, were overjoyed to receive the news on their ‘outstanding’ CQC rating.

Owned by leading UK residential care provider, Runwood Homes, the 68-bed residential care home situated in Darlingscote Road in Shipston-on-Stour, now proudly falls within the top 5% of care homes in England with this exceptional rating and is one of four homes in Warwickshire to receive this level of accreditation.

Leanne Braham, Home Manager for Low Furlong, and her wider team have worked exceptionally hard to put strategies and processes in place to further improve the service and were delighted to see the hard work from everyone in the home reflected in their new official rating.

Celebrating the success of this new rating, Leanne said:
‘We have all worked so hard over the last few years at Low Furlong and we are absolutely over the moon to have achieved an outstanding rating with CQC. I believe that resident, relative and staff involvement in the daily operations has really contributed to our success’.
I am thrilled to have led the team through change and now we are proud to share our success within the home, the community and our health care professionals.”

The CQC report published on the 25th of January 2023, following an inspection during the month of December, found: “People received an exceptionally personalised service because staff took time to learn their preferences and routines so they could provide care that was responsive to people’s individual and unique needs.”

Observations noted in the glowing report by CQC also complimented the positive, person-centred approach from service leadership and management, which said: “Staff told us the registered manager was extremely supportive of them and was an effective leader and motivator.”
