Open Day At Queensmount Bupa Care Home, Bournemouth

Staff and residents at Queensmount Bupa Care Home, on Queens Park West Drive, Bournemouth, are preparing to offer everyone a warm welcome and a taste of typical care home life at a fun-packed event which is being held to mark Care Home Open Day on Saturday April 21.

Care Home Open Day, a joint initiative by all the UK’s leading care providers, aims to showcase everything that’s good about care homes, showing what enjoyable and stimulating places they can be to both live and work in.

Queensmount Bupa Care Home is inviting the community to join them from 10am to 4pm for a special celebration to showcase the home and raise funds for the British Red Cross at the same time. In the morning there will be board games and crosswords with coffee and pastries, followed by an afternoon tea party to fundraise for the British Red Cross. Talented singer Rossano Sal will also perform a selection of songs.

The day will also provide a great opportunity for those considering a career in the sector. Staff will be on hand to answer any questions and guests will be able to see first-hand just how rewarding their work is, and explore the wide variety of career opportunities that are available.

Home Manager at Queensmount Bupa Care Home, Nicola Soulsby, said: “This is a great way to show the excellent services on offer and the fantastic work that goes on at Queensmount. Some people still have misconceptions about care homes, so we are keen to dispel any myths and for our local community to come and have a look around, meet the staff and our residents and take part in the day.”
