Nottinghamshire Based Care Home Raises More Than £500 From Summer Fayre

A Nottinghamshire based care home raised more than £500 from their summer fayre.

MHA The Herons, in Calverton invited family and friends as well as members of the local community to the fayre.

The day was packed full of activities to keep all guests entertained and there was also some live entertainment in the form of Barbershop singers.

There was a cake and sweet stall, as well as a games and book sale, which helped to contribute towards the final figure of £500.05.

The funds raised will go towards the home’s amenity fund, which will help organise events and activities for residents.

Claire Belshaw, admin manager said:
“It was a great day and we were supported really well by family and friends of residents as well as the general public.

“It was a good turnout, more than 70 guests came, and it was a very busy day.

“The residents got involved and did what they could to ensure we were organised.

“Staff members who were not working came with their family and that was nice to see.

“The credit for organising such a great day goes to Mandy Burkey, our activity coordinator who did a lot of the planning.

“In terms of what we are planning to do with the funds, we will discuss ideas with the residents and see what they want to do.

“We got some good feedback from residents and their family members, so it was nice to see everyone having a good time.”
