New Manager At Gloucester Home Aims To “Work With And Be Part Of The Community”

A Gloucester home has recently appointed a new home manager who says she wants to “work with and be part of the community”.

Lyndsey Dixon joined MHA Brockworth House in November 2024 and aims to use the knowledge and experience she has built up in her previous roles, to bring stability and a sense of community to MHA Brockworth House.

Lyndsey has extensive experience of working in social care and has more than 10 years’ experience of managing a nursing home.

Previously she has worked as an oncology nurse, studied for a degree in palliative care and is currently studying a master’s in advanced clinical Practice.

Despite it being the first time she is working for a charity, Lyndsey is keen to raise the profile of the home and “make a mark” in the community.

She added: “The values of MHA are similar to my personality, so I felt working for a charity was the right option for me.

“I have had spells in the past where I have worked in care homes and always felt that’s where my heart was.

“I have joined MHA Brockworth House to make a difference, I want to be here for a long time and hope to work with and be part of the community.

“We can be part of so much, I have lived in Gloucester my whole life, so I am looking forward to working with the community.

“I have really enjoyed my first few months at the home.

“The support, both within the home and from MHA as an organisation has been great, the atmosphere in the home is very homely and friendly.”
