Millcroft Care Home Achieves “Disability Confident Committed” Status

HC-One’s Millcroft Care Home in Redditch, Worcestershire, has announced that it has been officially recognised as a Disability Confident Committed Employer under the UK Government’s Disability Confident scheme.

The certificate, awarded on 6 October 2025, confirms that Millcroft Care Home has achieved Level 1 – Disability Confident Committed status. This recognition highlights the home’s ongoing dedication to fostering an inclusive and accessible working environment for all current and future colleagues.

As part of this commitment, Millcroft Care Home ensures that its recruitment process is both inclusive and accessible, providing equal opportunities for everyone who wishes to join the team. The home actively communicates and promotes its vacancies and guarantees interviews for disabled applicants who meet the minimum criteria for a role. In addition, Millcroft anticipates and provides reasonable adjustments wherever required, ensuring that every candidate and colleague can participate fully in their work.

Millcroft also supports any existing employees who acquire a disability or long-term health condition, helping them to remain in meaningful employment. The team is dedicated to taking practical steps that make a real difference for disabled people, strengthening a culture of understanding, support and inclusivity across the home.

The home is already working through the next stages of the Disability Confident self-assessment, with the goal of achieving Level 2 (Employer) and Level 3 (Leader) status in the near future.

The Disability Confident scheme, run by the UK Government, supports employers in making the most of the talents disabled people can bring to the workplace.
