Mike Thornton MP Visits Sunnybank House
Residents at Hartford Care’s brand new home in Fair Oak, Eastleigh were delighted to receive a visit from their local Member of Parliament recently.
Mike Thornton MP dropped into Sunnybank House for a couple of hours to join residents and staff for morning coffee and some delicious home-made cakes. They gathered in the Country Kitchen on the first floor of the home where residents enthusiastically showed their guest some of the craft activities that they are currently working on. They then chatted, while enjoying refreshments and got to ask him plenty of questions as well as giving him an insight into what life is like at Sunnybank House.
Hartford Care’s CEO, Sean Gavin and Brand Director, Jo Gavin then gave the MP a tour of the other two floors of the home, taking in the hairdressing salon, resident’s shop and some of the lovely lounges and lifestyle kitchens. He was also treated to a wonderful piano recital by one of the first residents to have moved into the home.
Home Manager, Gemma Ridout-Bowden said “We were so pleased that Mike took the time to come and visit us at Sunnybank and to wish us well. We are really proud of our lovely new home in Fair Oak, so naturally we are always pleased to show it off, but most importantly, we were delighted to be able to introduce our local MP to our residents. Life certainly doesn’t stop when you move into a Hartford Care home and visits like this help to emphasis this and facilitate feelings of real engagement with the local community.”
