Audrey Bracewell, who lives at Barnfield Care Home, in Chesterfield, was a fell walking enthusiast before she was diagnosed with the degenerative condition.
She was invited to participate in the memory walk, in Clumber Park, by the home’s activities coordinator Rachel Furniss.
Rachel had already planned to undertake the walk with her family, husband Steven and children Riley and Olivia.
She said: “I know Audrey enjoyed fell walking prior to getting dementia so I asked if she’d like to take part and she was over the moon.
“Her dementia is in the early stages, so she can still recall completing the walk, and her daughter said it really lifted her spirits.”
The Furniss family raised over £100 in sponsorship for the Alzheimer’s Society by participating in the Memory Walk.
Memory Walks take place across the UK throughout the year, with 110,000 participants in 2017, aiming to raise £9m for the fight against dementia.
