Mearns House Officially Opened By Michelle McManus

Singer and TV personality, Michelle McManus, has officially opened new care home Mearns House at a special ceremony, marking a double celebration for Meallmore.

Michelle joined residents, staff and specially invited guests at a fun-filled opening, which included a performance by The Rannock Trio. The event takes place in the same week the leading care home provider celebrates its 30th anniversary.

During the celebrations, Michelle was invited to mark the opening of the home by unveiling a special commemorative plaque. She was taken on the tour of the home by manager Liz Campbell and residents Isobel Allan & Stanley Garner , to get a feeling of what life is like at the purpose built home.

On opening the home, Michelle said: “I’ve had a fantastic time at the opening of Mearns House and feel very privileged to have been involved in such a special day. Scotland has a growing elderly population and it’s great to see how their needs are being met by companies such as Meallmore.

“I’d like to thank the staff and residents at Mearns House for having me along and I’ll be sure to pop in for a cuppa the next time I’m passing.”

Gerry Hennessey, co-founder and managing director of Meallmore Ltd, said: “The official opening of Mearns House is particularly exciting for our company, especially during our 30th anniversary year. We identified a need to provide high quality care in Newton Mearns and Mearns House is a great example of the exceptional standards of care that have come to be expected of Meallmore.

“I’m pleased to see how many people already consider Mearns House to be their home and I look forward to seeing the community here continue to grow.”
