Mayor Brews Up Support For Macmillan At Coppice Lodge

mayorResidents at Coppice Lodge welcomed the Mayor of Gedling last week as they hosted a coffee afternoon in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.  There was an array of cakes available with all proceeds being donated to the worthy cause.

Coppice Lodge residential and dementia care home in Arnold took the opportunity to host the event in their brand new coffee shop.  With freshly brewed coffee and an endless flow of tea, residents and visitors enjoyed a good old natter and plenty of laughs.  The Mayor of Gedling, who is a regular at the Coppice Lodge coffee shop, attended with her husband and said: “What a splendid afternoon at Coppice Lodge.  We had a great time catching up with the residents and staff.  The cakes are such a treat and all for such a good cause.  Coppice Lodge is an important part of the Arnold community and we always enjoy events at the home.”

Catherine Goddard, Regional Activities Executive for Ideal Carehomes which operates Coppice Lodge, was thrilled when she learnt that the home had raised £138 for Macmillan.  She said, “All the staff at Coppice Lodge worked really hard to put this lovely event together and everyone enjoyed it – there was a brilliant atmosphere, with lots of chatting, laughing, cakes and tea being the order of afternoon, and to raise £138 for Macmillan is the icing on the cake!”

Coppice Lodge provides residential and dementia care for 64 local older people.  Through a varied programme of activities, highly nutritious food and inspirational spaces, the home provides residents with person-centred care, creating aspirational lifestyle choices.
