Mariposa Launches A New Training Programme For Wellbeing Coordinators

Mariposa Care is launching an exciting new Wellbeing Coordinator training programme as part of the organisation’s commitment to education, team progression and career development.

The Wellbeing Coordinator Development Programme underlines Mariposa’s strong commitment to enhancing the wellbeing of residents through the promotion of independence and person-centred care. Wellbeing Coordinators work alongside care home colleagues to help deliver group and personalised, 1-2-1 wellbeing activities for residents according to their individual needs.

The new programme will be delivered through a combination of practical training, e-learning and face-to-face sessions. It is being led by Catherine Ruddick, Mariposa’s Regional Wellbeing and Community Engagement Lead, and is designed to ensure team members have the confidence, knowledge and skills to be outstanding in this area in all of Mariposa’s care homes.

Programme themes include celebrating and evidencing success, cultural diversity, and sensory wellness and promoting relaxation.

Catherine said: “Wellbeing is central to everything we do for our residents and our teams. We recognise that being a Wellbeing Coordinator is a rewarding and important role in our care homes, but equally it is not without its challenges. That’s why we are investing in our training programme and our people, so that our teams can flourish and develop a fulfilling career in wellbeing and activities.”

The programme will be open to existing Wellbeing Coordinators, as well as any other team members who are interested in gaining wider knowledge of the importance of wellbeing to residents.
