Local Heroine Chops Off Her Hair!

Caring is a passion in this local residential care home Elgar Court, and last week their wonderful Activities leader Kerrie Perks, went the extra mile and had her hair chopped off for The Little Princess Trust charity!

Kerrie’s long lustrous locks were carefully snipped off to ensure her hair could be donated to the amazing “Little Princess Trust”.  This Charity makes hairpieces for children who have lost their hair to this awful disease.  Kerrie said, “My hair was so long, and now I feel lighter and happier knowing that my hair will support a child’s well-being and it will do something good!  Caring is in my nature, and I just want to continue spreading the joy both in and out of our Residential and dementia home!”.

The Little Princess Trust provides free real hair wigs to children and young people up to the age of 24, who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment or other conditions.  This wonderful Trust also funds childhood cancer research searching to find kinder and more effective treatments.

Sarah Cadwallader said: “I am so proud of our staff and Kerrie is a shining example in our home, she is always going the extra mile for our residents and making their daily lives shine!”
