Local Heroes: Rotherham Residents Make a Difference on Their Daily Walk to the Shop

In a heartwarming display of community spirit, a group of Rotherham residents with learning disabilities, autism and complex needs have taken it upon themselves to clean up their local area. These dedicated individuals have turned their routine walks to the shop into litter-picking missions.

Participants, equipped with litter pickers, gloves and bags, can be seen diligently collecting litter along their paths, setting an inspiring example for others in the community.

Andrew Paul, Managing Director of care provider Horizon Care, said, “The enthusiasm and dedication of the people we support in Rotherham is truly commendable, Their actions demonstrate a deep sense of community responsibility and an earnest desire to make a positive impact on the environment. We are incredibly proud of their efforts and hope that their example will inspire others to join in and help make Rotherham a cleaner, greener place for everyone.”

This initiative is not just about cleaning up Rotherham; it’s about empowering individuals to be active citizens within the communities where they live making a positive difference to community life. It’s a reminder that every small action counts and that everyone, can contribute to helping us keep our neighbourhoods cleaner and greener.
