West Parley Care Home Presents Cheque To Local Charity

Parley Place care home in West Parley recently presented St Georges Foodbank in Bournemouth with a cheque for £2240 to enable it to continue helping the community with its social canteen.

The grant had been awarded by Barchester’s Charitable Foundation, a charity that helps older people and adults with a disability or mental health problems across England, Scotland and Wales by offering grants to help people connect or re-connect with others in their local community.

The care home welcomed Lauren Hennessy from Bournemouth foodbank to our community café to receive the cheque and celebrate being awarded the grant.

Lauren, Grants and Trusts Officer, said “This is a fantastic donation and the money will enable us to run our social canteen for 6 months, the service we offer in invaluable to our local community and we are very thankful to Barchester.”

Gina, General Manager at Parley Place care home, said: “We are always keen to show as much support as we can to local charities and do a lot of fundraising here. This money is going to such a deserving charity and hearing the breadth of what they do was heart-warming.”
