Leicester Tigers Drop In At Beaumont Hall’s Family Fun Day!

Residents at luxury care home Beaumont Hall were thrilled with a visit from Leicester Tiger’s Mascot last week at their Easter Family Fun Day.  Welford took a break from cheering on the Tigers to visit the residential and dementia care home to meet with residents, their families and the local Beaumont Leys community.

Residents and staff have been planning the Easter Family Fun Day and they invited the local community along to enjoy an Easter Egg Hunt, Easter games, face painting, homemade cakes and a raffle.  Walter Ballard, who has been living at Beaumont Hall for just over a year, entertained his great grandchildren and joined in the Easter arts and crafts with them, and Iris Barley was so overwhelmed with the atmosphere on the day that she shed tears of joy.

Home Manager, Kerri Simpson, said, “Our home is a real part of the local Beaumont Leys community and we love planning and hosting events and inviting our neighbours along.  It was great to see the children and residents come together for an afternoon of fun.  We have lots of Leicester Tigers’ fans here so Welford was a real treat for us all – and who can resist an Easter Egg Hunt and homemade cakes?  The only question now is how do we top this for our next open house event?!”.

Leicester Tigers have a close bond with Beaumont Hall since they teamed up for the innovative ‘Project Rugby’.  The regular sessions at the home see residents use rugby techniques to aid and improve physical wellbeing.  Chris McAuley from the Leicester Tigers explained: “Our programme is designed to give residents a variety of games to entertain them and offer them something truly unique.  Secondary to that is to encourage movement, using upper and lower body to work on functional strength that will help to improve everyday tasks such as gripping cups.”

Beaumont Hall is operated by Ideal Carehomes and offers residential and dementia care to older people from Beaumont Leys and the surrounding areas.  Residents live at the luxury home on an all inclusive basis, enjoying the modern facilities without additional fees.  The home has a specialist Lifestyle Manager who arranges regular trips, events and activities according to resident preferences and staff have access to the latest care plan technology enabling them to devote more time to their residents.
