Leeds Home Raises More Than £590 Following ‘New To You’ Table Sale

A Leeds home has raised more than £590 following a ‘new to you’ table sale.

MHA Gledhow set up the event to raise money for the homes amenities fund.

There was plenty for visitors to get their hands on with a bric a brac sale including books and games.

The kitchen team had also prepared hot food and some sweet treats in the form of cakes.

The total amount raised was £591.58, which will go towards arranging trips and activities for the residents.

The home provides nursing care for 51 residents.

Mandy Szita, activity coordinator said:
“Everything was donated to us by the local community and the support they have shown us has been incredible.

“More than 40 people including residents, their family members, staff and members of the community came to support us.

“Some of the items were brand new and were snapped up pretty quickly.

“The idea behind the new to you sale was to repurpose and reuse items which may help others.

“We put posters up in our local church to attract members of the community and we got a good response.

“The kitchen team deserves a lot of credit as they prepared some delicious food.

“We are still getting donations, and I am looking into how we will use the money raised.

“It was a really enjoyable afternoon, the weather was good, everyone was happy, and we are very grateful for the support shown to us.”
