Laundry Ladies Of Dementia Care Home Honoured

LaunryTwo local Seaford ladies, Laura Giles and Shirley Penry, have been honoured with a commemorative ‘blue plaque’.

The plaque was erected to officially recognise the dedication and commitment of these two special laundry ladies at the opening of the newly modernized laundry at Clifden House Dementia Care Centre in Seaford.

Nial Joyce of Clifden House, said: “Laura and Shirley are dedicated, hard working ladies. They have been with us for many years and we all want to show our great appreciation for their hard work that always takes place ‘behind the scenes’ of our busy community at Clifden House. We thought the best way to honour them into the future was a blue plaque, for the celebrities they are!”

Laura joined Clifden House in 2009, Shirley has also been working at Clifden House for nine years. Both are from Seaford.

Shirley and Laura said they are thrilled with the blue plaque and delighted with the new laundry facilities at Clifden House too.
