Launch Of New Social Care Commitment Website
The new Social Care Commitment website will be launched on the 12 January, and includes the other changes that have been made to commitment as a direct result of employer feedback.
The commitment is made by signing up to seven ‘I will…’ statements and supporting tasks which tasks help workers and employers put the commitment into practice.
The new website will make it even easier for people to embed the commitment as it comes with new guidance, and some excellent case studies, showing how different organisations have used the commitment.
The feedback we’ve had so far has been very positive with one employer noting that, “the commitment has made a difference to our quality of support. We can promote a higher skilled workforce and our positive approach to social care in the home.”
There have also been some important changes to how people sign up which I wanted you all to be aware of.
Signing up will now be a two year commitment rather than one, and there will no longer be a gap between registering and signing up – you’ll now be able to register and sign up at the same time in one session.
These are changes that haven’t been made on a whim, but because the Social Care Commitment team have listened to employers to make improvements to the commitment that will enable as many people as possible to embed the commitment into workplaces.
It’s vital across all the work that we do that we listen to employers so the tools we provide are fit for purpose and these improvements can only help make a real difference in the workplace.
