Kindness Is Contagious At Local Care Home

Staff and residents at Barchester’s Cepen Lodge Care Home in Chippenham dedicated their time to deliver bunches of flowers to patients and staff at Chippenham community hospital, as part of their ‘Random Acts of Kindness’, to give back to the local community.

Cepen Lodge open their doors to the local community with regular events to reduce social isolation with groups such as fortnightly flower arranging classes, baking club, coffee mornings and the ever popular Fish & Chip Club. These clubs are held free of charge to support local elderly residents to socialise and learn new skills. During this weeks flower arranging class, residents and staff decided it would be a lovely idea to deliver their flower bunches to patients and staff at the Community Hospital as a gesture of kindness, and to increase the value that we as a society place on kindness and to make it a bigger part of our daily lives.

Senior General Manager, Jade Hodge, said:
“As a care home, it is our duty to cultivate a kind and nurturing environment 100% of the time, and to carry this across to support our local community. We all really enjoyed delivering the flowers to the wards, it was such a simple, yet effective way to make others happy in the community. We also shared information with the patients and wards about our upcoming clubs and cafés which they really appreciated.”
