Join Providers Unite Day of Action Today!

The Providers Unite protest group which brought together the care sector in February this year  for a national day of action at Westminster has renewed its call to action in response to renewed financial pressures on care operators.
In a post issued to supporters, a spokesperson for the protest group said:
“Week after week, decisions from Westminster are making it harder for care providers to do their job.

“Social care isn’t just about services, it’s about people, dignity, and community.

“A few weeks ago: Refusal to fund Employers’ National Insurance Contributions
This week: Plans to freeze overseas recruitment
Next week: We speak out.”

Today (Tuesday 20th May at 2PM), Providers Unite has called on care leaders to join its Day of Action.

The movement asks “every provider, carer, family member, and supporter to flood social media with one clear message: hashtag#WhenWeCantCareWhoWill

“Use your voice. Share your story. Post a stat. Join the campaign to say loudly and clearly: hashtag#CareCantWait.

“Here’s why it matters:

• 1.59 million people work in adult social care, more than the NHS
• Social care contributes £68.1 billion to the UK economy
• For every £1 invested, the return is £2.36 in socioeconomic benefits
• Every £100 spent on social care reduces NHS pressure by £35

“We’re fighting for:
• Older and disabled people who rely on care
• Unpaid carers who need respite
• A workforce stretched but still standing strong
• An infrastructure that benefits all of us

“Let’s stand together. Let’s be heard.
Because when we can’t care, who will?”
