Highview Lodge Classic Car Show Revvs Up Community Spirit
Highview Lodge, part of the Runwood Homes group, recently hosted a spectacular Classic Car Show, turning the venue into a gleaming showcase of automotive elegance and community camaraderie. On 27th of July, residents, staff, and local neighbours gathered to admire a stunning collection of 35 classic cars, including luxurious Rolls Royces and iconic Ford Thunderbirds.
The event proved to be a hit, as attendees explored the intricacies of these vintage vehicles and enjoyed a lively, shared experience. The show highlighted the timeless appeal of classic cars while bringing together the residents of Highview Lodge and the broader community in a celebration of shared interests.
Gemma, the Wellbeing Lead, was the driving force behind the event, with crucial support from the homes manager, Martha. Their collective efforts were bolstered by the invaluable contributions of volunteer Martyn, ensuring that the day ran smoothly.
Residents were clearly excited by the showcase. Dot, one of the residents couldn’t hide her enthusiasm: “I love that car; that’s my favourite! No, wait, you can have that one; I want this one!” Fellow resident Nina echoed the sentiment, exclaiming, “This is amazing—look at all these shiny cars!”
Staff members were equally impressed. “The turnout was fantastic,” remarked one staff member. “Everyone—residents, staff, and the local community—had a wonderful time. We’re especially grateful to Peter from Watford Classic Cars for his support and to Noviello Ice Creams for adding a delightful touch to the event.”
