Hartlepool Care Home Hosts Festive Christmas Bonanza

HC058-1Residents and members of the community enjoy carols and commemorative service

Residents at a Hartlepool care home tuned in their singing voices and stepped into the festive spirit this week as they opened their doors for an unforgettable Christmas Bonanza event.

Queens Meadow Care Home welcomed the friends and family of residents and members of the local community to join them for an afternoon full of activities from the merriment of the carol service to the moving release of commemorative balloons.

The homes were joined by Oxford Road Baptist Church Choir who offered a delightful Christmas carol performance, accompanied by music from the Dignity Organ provided by Mason & Martin.

Drinks and refreshments, included mulled wine and mince pies, were also served, before the poignant balloons release by residents, staff, family and friends to remember loved ones who have been lost during the past year.

Donations made will go to the residents’ fund, which is used to organise day trips and activities for residents at Queens Meadow.

Liz Jones, Customer Relations Officer at Hill Care, said: “Our Christmas Bonanza was a huge success – it really got the residents, staff and our visitors into the spirit of Christmas and it was wonderful to see everyone joining in with singing some well-loved carols.

“The balloon release was also extremely moving and uplifting; giving it gave families, staff and residents the chance to say a fond farewell to those we have lost over the past year.

We would like to thank all who contributed to and attended the event, and would like to them a Merry Christmas from everyone at Queens Meadow!”
