Green Light For £3.5m Grantown Care Home

Plans for a multi million pound 40 bed residential and nursing care home in Grantown have been approved.

Representatives from Cairngorms National Park Authority gave the application by Parklands Group, one of the largest independent care home providers in the north of Scotland, the green light at a planning meeting today.

Work on the £3.5 million facility will begin in spring 2015 and construction is expected to take around 12 months. The new facility will be the first purpose built care home in the town for decades.

The new home, to be built on Seafield Avenue, will feature four living wings, each with a day room, dining room and 10 en-suite bedrooms. The home will also feature a café, family room, hairdressing salon and a secure garden. A landscaped car park will provide 25 off street parking spaces.

Around 50 care jobs could be created as a result of the investment, with many more in the construction phase.
