Grease Is The Word For Lincolnshire Care Homes During Annual Fun Day
Lincolnshire care home residents took a step back in time to the 1950s as part of a Grease-themed summer fun day on Tuesday 26th July.
Over 100 residents and staff from the 15 Lincolnshire care homes run by The Orders of St John Care Trust (OSJCT) attended the event, which was held at Skellingthorpe Community Centre.
Residents were treated to a fun-filled selection of activities throughout the event, including a big-screen viewing of the hit musical film, Grease and a lunchtime BBQ.
To help get into 50s spirit, residents and staff dusted off their leather jackets and poodle skirts to arrive in fancy dress.
Caroline Dunagan, Lincolnshire Assistant Operations Director for OSJCT, commented: “Grease was really the word during this year’s Fun Day! All of our residents, colleagues and friends loved the 1950s nostalgia, dressing up dancing and singing.
“Our summer fun day event is really important for our residents because not only does it provide socialisation and reminiscence but the trip out for the day and making new friends is an effective way of boosting a feeling of well-being.
