Gibraltar Nursing Home Celebrates Coronation of King Charles with ‘Time for a Cuppa’ Cake Stall Fundraiser

Gibraltar Nursing Home in Monmouth is hosting a special event to coincide with the coronation of King Charles on 6th May.

The event, called ‘Time for a Cuppa’, will raise money for Dementia UK. The nursing home will be selling a range of delicious homemade cakes and drinks, giving everyone the chance to celebrate the coronation with their family members, which they will be screening in the Pillars restaurant within the home.

Gibraltar’s manager, Verity Walmsley is looking forward to the day and says, “Some of our gents and ladies have opted to watch the coronation and have their lunch in Pillars. It will be lovely to see the streets mixing and having a good old natter as they watch the crowning of our king.”

“The team strive to create a true continuation of home for their family members and have purpose-built houses within the home which support different care needs. Hallways are a banned word here, instead they have turned them into streets, allowing family members to experience a unique neighbourhood within their home. The get together in the Pillar’s restaurant will be a great opportunity for the family members to socialise with people who live on different streets.”
All funds raised will help to support those living with a Dementia. Team members at Gibraltar Nursing Home have been busy baking and donating cakes for this worthy cause and are looking forward to celebrating King Charles’ coronation while making a difference.
