Fred Dinenage MBE Opens Dementia Specialist Home In Hampshire

SONY DSCFred Dinenage, MBE has officially opened Sunnybank House in Fair Oak, Hampshire, a purpose-designed care home fully equipped to provide residential care, dementia care and nursing, all under one roof.   The launch was held on Wednesday 1st October (UK Older People’s Day) and it was attended by The Mayor of Eastleigh, Councillor Tony Noyce and The Mayoress of Eastleigh, Mrs Janice Noyce as well as representatives from many of the area’s churches, clubs and societies. Flowers were presented to The Mayoress by children of Fair Oak Infant School.

Guests were able to see first-hand the extraordinary attention to detail that has dictated the design of Sunnybank House courtesy of Hartford Care employees who acted as knowledgeable tour guides led by home manager, Gemma Ridout-Bowden. They were also able to sample some of the chefs’ delicious home-made fayre and raise a glass to the arrival of the best possible care for older people in Fair Oak.

Sean Gavin, Hartford Care’s CEO welcomed guests to Sunnybank House and commented “We are very proud of each of our homes and Sunnybank House is a product of all the experiences that we have enjoyed and learned from many years of providing great care. Our ethos at Hartford Care is simple – we seek to provide a caring, comfortable and happy environment where our residents can enjoy life to the full, secure in the knowledge that, in every respect, their needs are taken care of. Whilst the physical attributes of a home are important we believe that it is the people within our homes that make them special – a place where care, comfort and companionship can be found.”

After touring the home, Fred Dinenage commented “Care, Comfort and Companionship is the motto of Hartford Care and I really think that in this magnificent development all three elements, combined with lovely staff, have really come together. This really is state of the art. I’ve been to lots of care homes and I’ve never seen one like this before and in all honesty, I could quite happily move in tomorrow.”

The Mayor of Eastleigh said “We are delighted to welcome Sunnybank House into the local community within Eastleigh. The designers have done a wonderful job with the interior and we wish all the staff and future residents many happy years in their lovely home.”
