Ex Bredon Women’s Institute President Turns ‘102’

Celebrations have been in full swing at Tewkesbury Fields care home in Gloucester as one of its residents reaches the fantastic age of 102 years old!

Having spent over 20 years residing in Bredon village at the southern edge of Worcestershire, Marion Ralls boasts 3 years as the President of Bredon Women’s Institute. She holds fond memories of being part of the Women’s Institute and continues to meet with friends acquired from the group whilst living here at Tewkesbury Fields.

Marion was joined by staff, relatives, friends and other residents to celebrate her 102nd year on earth. A champagne reception was held at the home and guests enjoyed a special birthday cake made by the home’s chef Jaro.

The care home reached out on Facebook and attempted to get 102 likes, comments and shares for Marion’s birthday. Marion was absolutely blown away when we sat with her a read her every single comment. She couldn’t believe that there was such kind strangers who wanted to wish her a happy birthday.

Marion said:

“I think Tewkesbury is a very nice little town, with a wonderful community spirit; I am very fond of it, and can’t thank the local people enough for all their ‘likes and special birthday wishes’.
