Essex Care Home Resident Fulfils Dreamboys’ Wish
A nonagenarian got exactly what she bargained for when she attended her dream night at a Dreamboys show, thanks to the efforts of her Essex care home staff.
Sheila Eley, aged 91, has been a resident of Colchester-based care home Crouched Friars for the past three years.
She was treated to a performance by the Dreamboys’ at The Princes Theatre in Clacton alongside Crouched Friars’ activities director, Vanessa Brown after confessing to the team that it was her wish to see a male strip show.
The team then sprung into action to make Sheila’s dream a reality and began looking into local performances.
After emailing the theatre, Vanessa was gifted two tickets for Sheila to go and fulfil her wish of seeing the Dreamboys’ live.
When asked about the show, Sheila said: “It was such a lovely experience, I absolutely loved seeing them all dance.”
Vanessa said: “It was great to see Sheila having so much fun at Dreamboys’. The theatre was really helpful when we reached out and it was a joy to help make one of our residents’ dreams come true.”
