Elm House Christmas Card Appeal For Dementia UK

Skelmersdale care home staff are appealing for local people to think of their residents whilst writing their Christmas card lists!

The Christmas season is the perfect time of year to let elderly people know that they are still part of the wider community, says Elm House Care Home manager Angie Finnigan.

So the home, in Lime Grove Old Skelmersdale, is asking local schools, clubs and individuals to consider sending a Christmas card.

Angie said: “The staff here are amazing and do everything they can to make Christmas a special time of year for residents, while providing the care they need.

“A simple Christmas card to our residents will help make their Christmas even more special.

“Some of our residents don’t have family and friends outside of the home and a card will make all the difference.

“We’d like to receive as many cards as possible to show our residents they are not forgotten in Skelmersdale this Christmas. Not only that, but the owner of the home is going to donate £1 for every card we receive to Dementia UK so it is a lovely chance to help out a charity that is so important to the elderly in West Lancashire.”

Anyone interested in sending a Christmas card should address it to:
