Eight Care Homes Across the South of England Sold to Holmwood Care Group
Milkwood Care Ltd located across the South and South West of England has been sold to Holmwood Care Group.
Established in 1999, Milkwood Care Ltd comprises eight homes with a total of 237 registered places. The homes are located in two regional clusters, with three homes in Hampshire, one in Berkshire, two in Herefordshire, and two in Gloucestershire.
The business was founded when the current Directors, Janet Lloyd-Leech and Robin Cheesman, purchased Milkwood House as their first care home, marking the beginning of what would become a highly respected care group.
Milkwood Care Ltd will join Holmwood Care Group, a highly regarded, family-founded and owner-led UK care provider, taking the combined group to 25 services across England, spanning residential, nursing and dementia care for older people alongside specialist services for adults with learning disabilities, supported living and day opportunities.
Holmwood Care Group was founded by brothers Dr Asif Raja and Farooq Raja, the group’s co-directors and owners. During the past 40 years, each working in and around health and social care, the brothers brought together all their individual efforts to apply to one singular cause – to provide great care from caring staff in lovely homes.

Following a careful and considered selection process, we have entrusted our legacy with full confidence to people we have known for over a decade and trust to take forward and build upon what we have created.
