Doris Celebrates Her 105th Birthday At Oswestry Care Home
An Oswestry care home resident has celebrated her 105th birthday with at a special celebration which spanned four generations.
Doris Morris, who is a resident at The Court, which is operated by Akari Care, was given the red carpet treatment at the party, that was organised by staff.
She was joined by her granddaughter, great granddaughter and great, great granddaughter – Louise Corbett, Abbie Corbett and Tamzyn Owen – as well as fellow residents for the celebration.
Doris, who has been a resident at The Court since January 2016, worked on her family’s farm and then cared for a lady in Bronygarth, before looking after her own children when they were born.
The highlight of her life was giving birth to her children, Beryl and Gerald.
When asked about the secret of living a long life, she said that it was down to “No smoking or drinking, the support of a loving family, good living and to help one another.”
Anna Prichard, home manager at The Court, said: “It was a lovely celebration for a wonderful lady. Doris has been a great addition to the home and is popular among our staff and residents, and is still able to communicate effectively and engage with others, which is fantastic.
“It’s always nice to welcome guests to the home, and it was nice to meet her family members and little Tamzyn was a joy to behold and our residents enjoyed her company. I would like to wish Doris many happy returns.”
